Foreign nationals did not agree to return from Manang

Fifteen foreign tourists from different countries have refused to return home. Chief District Officer Pushpraj Poudel informed that he had refused to return home even though tourists from different countries had requested him to return home.

According to him, the tourists are from European countries including the US, the Netherlands, Argentina, Germany, Israel. The tourists have been staying in Upper Manang, Pisang, Chame, Timang, Dharapani and other places. The tourists are reluctant to return home as the risk of Covid-29 is lower in Nepal than in their own country. The data of foreign nationals living in Narpabhumi VDC could not be extracted or even contacted.

 Pushpraj Poudel said he was not sure how many foreigners were living in Tilicho Vescamp. "Foreign nationals say that Nepal is safer than their country, so we do not return home; there is a greater risk of Covid in our country, in Nepal we say that we are safe," he said. The risk of the virus is low in Nepal and can not spread the infection here, says American citizen David. "We are safe in Nepal," he said.
